It would be swift. Time was of the essence.
Get in, locate IT, pay for IT and get out. Exact change. Nimble movements. Unnoticed. Unheralded.
The automatic glass doors opened invitingly though I had not moved from my spot. Had its sensors sensed my intention? Cool air enveloped my being. of sweat on my forehead welcomed the cold. My feet stepped forward instinctively.
Once inside, I scanned the terrain. Endless aisles of shelves. My target was not in sight. IT was nowhere to be seen. Silence. Deafening silence.
On impulse, I headed for the stairs. Up I went in search of IT. I imagine many had made this same arduous journey of hope to possess IT. Time was running out - less than a month to judgement day.
My gut feeling was accurate. There, in front of me, bold lettering promulgated ITs abode. Relief swept through my self. I sauntered forward to claim my prize.
A mistake - a fortuitious lapse! IT was not there! Despair gripped my being.
'May I help you sir?', an innocous yet shocking intrusion interrupted my thoughts.
The salesgirl peered at me with her permanent smile. I grinned sheepishly. IT.. I was looking for IT.. I offered.
I followed her to the information counter with the all-knowing computer. She typed in the author's name - Umar Munshi. I waited with bated breath...
Sold out. No more stock. A shortage.
I could not buy my book because it was sold out. Not only in Popular Bras Basah (the largest outlet), but everywhere except Popular Toa Payoh.
Amazing. I was in awe.
Still, I was in need of copies. I had passed all my publisher copies to my students and had none for myself and my editor. I requested for 7 copies to be reserved. Toa Payoh, here I come.

Published - Suggested Solutions with Bonus Mark Answers (General Paper)
Dear GP lovers and haters (and those getting cramps from sitting on the fence).
Dyna Publisher, the company that publishes all official TYS books for Cambridge & SEAB in Singapore, has recently pulished their latest and arguable most awesome TYS book to date!
It is written by yours truly, with lots of assistance and contribution from my editor and language mentor, Mdm Sharifah Hamzah from the US (she had worked the gamut of high language-literacy jobs from Lawyer to Journalist to Writer to Article Contributor to Proofreader to Editor of the most awesome book by Dyna Publisher).
This book is retailing at $4.00 only with limited copies available at a Popular Bookstore near you.
All students takng their A Levels are highly encouraged to invest less than the price of a McDonald's meal to get their hands on this GP Solutions Doctrine to increase their chances of getting As by roughly 34% (statistic based on my gut feeling).
Of course, no Suggested Solutions are perfect. (Just refer to suggested solutions from your College to prove this statement :) ). I look forward to receiving any feedback or comments from you, my target audience. Love my book or hate it, do let me know by emailing me at umar_munshi@yahoo.com. I promise to respond should I like your email.
In exactly 1 month and 2 days, you will sit for your GP A Levels.
My advice is simple. DO at least 1 TYS compre and essay weekly, then refer to the Suggested Solutions to self-proctor. Of course to do this, you need to get THE AWESOME BOOK previously mentioned.
Have fun and see ya at Popular!

GP Paper 2 SOLUTIONS (free for all)
Free? Yes, with no strings attached, no obligation to listen to a 2hr sales pitch, and rest assured, you will not be charged $4 per sms or have a chance to win an iPad.
Friends, beloved students, countrymen. (point: I am NOT leaving out the fairer sex. I did not use the term 'countrywomen' lest the extra sensitive ones deem me to have used derogatory terms against them. For peace on this earth, we shall take Countrymen to be gender-neutral).
Basically.. one and all.
I have decided to share my very own GP Suggested Answers to the all-time favourite Ten-Year Series Papers.
It is my sincere hope that by spreading my suggested solutions, I will be able to benefit all the ardent fans of this blog (yes, both of you).
Philosopher A.M. Munshi once declared -Knowledge grows in value when spread to others, and has little worth when kept to oneself.
These answers are created by myself with input from my current students. They are not perfect but then again you do not need to be perfect to get your A.
I hope to make available Solutions for different years and papers on a weekly basis. For sentimental reasons known only to me, we shall begin with the solutions for Nov 2000 Paper 2.
I will not be posting the answers here on the blog itself for strategic reasons. To get the Solutions in Word format via email, just follow the instructions below:
1. Send an email to gpaper.sos@gmail.com with subject 'GPSOS Rocks - Free Solutions'
2. Cut and paste the following with the data included:
Name:
Gender:
College:
Year:
Last GP Exam Grade:
Target GP A Lev Grade:
Do you have tuition for any subject, if so pls specify:

Note: This is no longer possible due to my agreement with Dyna Publisher for the TYS book. The GP TYS with solutions book is available at Popular Bookstores.
